Set Up Email on Android

Add your mailbox to the Gmail app as its own account, connected over IMAP. It is not a Google Account and does not need one: an outside mailbox is added the same way in the Gmail app on Android as it is anywhere else.

Using the Gmail App

  1. Open the Gmail app.
  2. Tap your profile picture in the top right, then Add another account.
  3. Tap Other, then choose Personal (IMAP).
  4. Enter your new email address and your mailbox password.
  5. Enter these settings:
    • Incoming mail server (IMAP): the host shown on your account page's Mail app settings card. Port 993, SSL.
    • Outgoing mail server (SMTP): the same host. Port 465, SSL (port 587 with STARTTLS also works).
    • Username: your full email address.
    • Password: your mailbox password, the one you set.
  6. Done! Switch between accounts by tapping your profile picture.

Using Samsung Email or Other Apps

  1. Open your email app and go to Settings → Add Account.
  2. Choose Other or IMAP.
  3. Enter your new email address, your mailbox password, and the settings above.
  4. Your inbox will sync automatically.
